Ports of Stockholm participates in two projects co-financed by the EU within the TEN-T

European infrastructure is in the limelight in Helsinki and Tallinn this week, during the annual conference TEN-T Days organized by the European Commission, port said in a press release.
The EU is establishing a European network of infrastructure that connects the central roads, railways, airports and ports in order for goods and people to be transported in Europe efficiently using all modes of transport. To implement the strategic Trans-European Network for Transport, TEN-T, the EU assists with funding for various projects. The financial support is dedicated both to construction projects and to feasibility studies as part of the development of efficient and sustainable transport solutions.
Ports of Stockholm participate in two projects co-financed by the EU within the TEN-T. One is the Ports of Stockholm's project to rebuild Värtahamnen, where the European Commission last summer announced that the project will receive EU support, since it is an important piece in the European infrastructure puzzle. In the second project, LNG in Baltic Sea Ports, Ports of Stockholm, together with six other ports around the Baltic Sea, is looking into the possibility of establishing an infrastructure for bunkering vessels with liquefied natural gas (LNG). This is in line with the European Commission's decision that alternative fuels should be available in the strategically important European transport network.
Representatives from Ports of Stockholm are attending the conference in order to talk about the ongoing projects, learning more about other similar projects and to receive valuable information from the European Commission regarding the TEN-T.
