In January-September 2013, Big Port St. Petersburg handled 42,973,700 t of cargo (-2%, year-on-year), the port administration says.
In the reported period, transshipment of dry bulk cargo climbed by 14% to 4,826,800 t including 4,272,900 of mineral fertilizers (+16%). Transshipment of dry loose cargo declined by 19% to 224,400 t including 172,200 to of grain (+5%).
Transshipment of general cargo dropped by 16% to 9,051,800 t including 2,906,300 of ferrous metal (-21%), 1,317,400 of non-ferrous metals (-16%) and 939,200 t of scrap metal (-19%). Transshipment of refrigerated cargo climbed by 6% to 1,594,900 t.
The port’s container throughput totaled 1,884,197 TEUs.
Transshipment of ro-ro cargo hit 637,400 t.
Transshipment liquid bulk cargo (oil products) declined by 1% to 10,384,700 t.
