Employee of Viking Supply Ships receives Environmental Award

At the annual Work Environmental Conference (SAN) in Gothenburg, Sweden it Is tradition to award someone who has made a great contribution for the work environmental, the company said in its press release. The award was given to Annelie RusthJensen with the following declaration from SAN-Committee:
“This year’s SAN prize winner has shown how simple actions can bring big improvements. She receives the award for her extensive work in creating a cleaner and safer working environment for the company's onboard employees. Thanks to her genuine commitment and impressive drive, the consumption of harmful chemicals has been reduced dramatically on the vessels. On some vessels, the consumption of washing agents has reduced by 70 percent and it is considerably less harmful glues and paints onboard than before. The number of products has become fewer and it is now same products on all vessels. Dispensing equipment is installed and the company has compiled clear information sheet that can easily explain what a product contains and the protection it requires. The work has been carried out in close cooperation with the crew onboard where everyone had the opportunity to make an impact. “
