Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports down 5.3% to 117.7 mln t in Jan-Oct’13

In January-October, seaports of Ukraine handled 117.7 mln t of cargo (-5.3%, year-on-year), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

State stevedoring companies under the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine handled 44.7 mln t of cargo (38% of total volume); private stevedoring companies - 73 mln t (62%) including 39 mln t of cargo handled by private stevedores at USPA berths (33.1% of total volume)

Handling of import cargo hit 15 mln t (+10.4%), coastal trade cargo – 2.4 mln t (+ 36.3%), export cargo – 77.5 mln t (97.1% of volumes handled in 2012), transit cargo – 22.6 mln t (77.3% of volumes handled in 2012).

Container handling in seaports hit 648,367 TEUs (+7.5%, year-on-year).
