In the weekend of 10 November, five of the largest quay cranes in the world were put on transport in Shanghai to go to Rotterdam, the company said in its press release.
The five cranes built by ZPMC are destined for the ECT Delta Terminal. A sea voyage of approximately two months will see them here around the turn of the year.
The new quay cranes have a reach of 24 containers. The acquisition further expands the capacity of ECT Delta Terminal to handle Ultra-Large Container Ships (ULCS). These ships, which transport 13,000 TEU and more, are growing rapidly in number. The new equipment, combined with other investments including automated guided vehicles, enables ECT Delta Terminal to handle even more of these ships rapidly and efficiently.
