Petersburg Oil Terminal boosts handling of export oil products delivered by river tankers
In summer navigation of 2013 (May-November), Petersburg Oil Terminal (POT CJSC, Big Port St. Petersburg) was engaged in transshipment of oil products delivered to the terminal by river tankers. In the accounting period, the terminal handled 1.6 mln t of oil products (+33%, year-on-year), the company says.
Transshipment of heavy fuel oil delivered by river transport hit 260,000 tonnes with vacuum gasoil accounting for the rest of the volume. The cargo was delivered to the terminal from Ufa refineries and LUKOIL refinery.
The increase in transshipment of export cargo delivered by river tankers was driven by the market situation and optimization of POT production process.
The year of 2013 was a milestone for POT in terms of transshipment of oil products delivered by river tankers. The terminal handles river vessels from 2001. As of today, they can be handled at two dedicated and two multipurpose berths.
The majority of oil products (over 85%) comes to POT by railway transport for further export shipment. In 2013, POT expects to handle 10 mln t of cargo.
Petersburg Oil Terminal CJSC provides services on transshipment and storage of dark and light oil products dedicated for export and bunkering of vessels.
