On Saturday, November 16, 2013 the OOCL Canada encountered a severe problem with the Main Engine System, the company said in its press release.
After a risk assessment was conducted, and for the safety of the vessel, crew, cargo, and containers on board, the Master recommended a vessel inspection and to not complete the Trans-Pacific voyage from Kaohsiung to Long Beach.
As such, the OOCL Canada has been arranged to arrive in Shanghai (Yangshan) on about November 23, 2013 due to emergency repairs.
The OOCL Tianjin will phase in on November 25, 2013 to replace the OOCL Canada. The OOCL Tianjin will be arriving on about December 7, 2013 to Long Beach.
