Russia’s exports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) can raise by 13%, year-on-year, to some 5 mln t in 2013, IAA PortNews journalist cites Anton Zharinov, Acting Head of Development and Regulation of Foreign Trade Department, RF Ministry of Economic Development, as saying at VIII annual international congress Oil Terminal being held in Saint-Petersburg.
According to him, LPG is exported mainly to Europe. The share of Turkey has surged recently (from 16% in 2012 to 30% in 2013) driven by the development of petrochemical industry in the country.
Some 5.4 mln t of LPG will be sent to the internal market of Russia.
Meanwhile, another speaker at the Congress, Elena Fokina, Head of Monitoring and Refining Group of CDU TEK has made a different forecast. According to her data, Russia is to export 4.4 mln t of LPG in 2013 with production to make 13.8 mln t against 13.4 mln t in 2012.
