Ice class ferry Bosfor Vostochny has undergone sea trials in Primorsk region, says press center of the regional administration.
Bosfor Vostochny was purchased for written down value by the municipality from one of the business entities which once received this ferry from the previous administration of Vladivostok. After becoming a municipal asset, Bosfor Vostochny was overhauled by Pervomaysky shipyard.
As of today, Bosfor Vostochny is the only coastal cargo and passenger ferry in Vladivostok able to operate in the most severe ice conditions.
The ferry’s capacity is 180 passengers and 35 passenger automobiles as well as up to 90 tonnes of different cargoes including coal. It can participate in winter navigation with ice of up to 1 meter thick.
