NWSC carried hydrocracking equipment in navigation of 2013 (photo)
In navigation of 2013, tug and tow trains of North-Western Shipping Company used inland water ways of Russia to transport hydrocracking equipment for refineries of the Volga federal district, press center of NWSC says.
First, the company carried two reactors manufactured in Italy (640 t, 40x5x7.6 m and 570 t, 26x7.5x5.2 m) from port Ilyichevsk (Ukraine) for Rosneft’s Novokuibyshevsky refinery in Saratov region. The shipping lasted from August till September.
Two other reactors manufactured by Izhorskye Zavody in Saint-Petersburg (680 t, 44x7.1x5.2 m and 810 t, 29x7.1x6.6 m) were delivered to Novokuibyshevsky refinery in early November.
Two 550-tonne reactors (31x7.1x7.2 m) manufactured by Izhorskye Zavody were delivered by NWSC to Samara-based Kuibyshevsky refinery (Rosneft) in mid October.
The operations were performed in cooperation with Infotech Baltika CJSC with Volga-Baltic Logistic in charge of project management.
«In navigation 2014, NWSC is going to continue transportation of oversize cargo for petroleum refining industry and other industries of Russia», the statement says.
North-Western Shipping Company is the largest carrier in Russia’s water transport system, specializing in shipping import / export general cargo, bulk and loose dry cargo, tugging of oversized cargo and vessels. The company’s fleet comprises about 100 cargo ships of total DWT 360,000 tonnes, including 84 mixed-sailing "river-sea” vessels, 6 barges, 7 tugs and 3 auxiliary ships.
