“K” Line to open new office in Myanmar
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K”Line) will open a new office from January 2014 in Yangon, Myanmar, and appoint Japanese personnel from its Tokyo head office, the company said in its press release.
Myanmar has been attracting attention in recent years as one of the “post China” countries, and many Japanese companies are establishing operations in Myanmar with projects such as the joint construction of the Thilawa Industrial Park by Japan and the government of Myanmar.
By assigning Japanese personnel to Yangon, “K” Line will be able to have direct contact with the Myanmar industrial community in order to gather and better evaluate information related to infrastructure and local companies in Myanmar. “K” Line will also develop marine transportation and other services in logistics and related areas to meet the demands of customers that have entered or are considering establishing operations in Myanmar.
“K” Line has already secured an office in Yangon and will conduct operations with an eye towards developing business by establishing a joint venture with a local company in the future.
