Loading at Russian Railways network down 2.8% to 1.23 bln t in 2013
In 2013, the loading at the network of Russian Railways OJSC totaled 1.23 bln t (-2.8%, year-on-year), the company’s press center says.
In the reported period, Russian Railways loaded 310.8 mln t of coal (+1%, against 2012); 11.5 mln t of coke (-9.6%); 250.3 mln t of crude and oil products (-3.1%); 110.7 mln t of iron and manganese ore (+0.7%); 70.1 mln t of ferrous metal (-4.5%); 16.7 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (-7.7%); 47 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+4.2%); 34.4 mln t of cement (-1.6%); 35.7 mln t of timber (-1.6%); 13.8 mln t of grain and milling products (-22.4%); 170.2 mln t of construction materials (-5.7%); 20.6 mln t of non-ferrous ore and raw sulphur (-7.3%); 26.2 mln t of chemicals and soda (-6.7%); 34.1 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (-4.2%).
In 2013, the company’s cargo turnover made 2,195.8 bln tarrif t-km (-1.2%). Cargo turnover including empty wagon run made 2,812.8 bln tarrif t-km (+1.1%).
In December, the loading of Russian Railways climbed by 1.8%, year-on-year, to 103.3 mln t.
December cargo turnover was up 6.5% to 199.1 bln t-km. Cargo turnover including empty wagon run increased by 8.9% to 255.5 bln t-km.
