Statoil awards contracts for support services

Statoil has decided to outsource certain additional tasks within the functions IT, Facility Management and Finance & Control. The company has awarded three new contracts to external suppliers.
Outsourcing to external vendors is aimed at strengthening Statoil's competitiveness, the company said in its press release.

"After a thorough evaluation, we have concluded that there is a solid business case for outsourcing within the areas in scope. The close cooperation with the three selected suppliers will enable us to strengthen our cost competitiveness and flexibility, while maintaining the right level of service," says Torgrim Reitan, chief financial officer in Statoil.

The suppliers chosen are Capgemini for IT, Coor Service Management for FM and Accenture for F&C.The suppliers will commence their deliveries during the spring.
In 2013, Statoil sent out invitations to tender for services within IT, Facility Management and Finance & Control. The bids have now been evaluated through a procurement process, and Statoil has decided to implement the outsourcing of tasks within the three areas.

The number of full time positions in Statoil in Norway that will be affected is 209. Most of the employees affected by the change will be offered employment by the suppliers.
More than 60 % of the services provided by Statoil's internal business service provider are already delivered by external suppliers.

"Statoil ASA has long experience of outsourcing, with a number of services already being delivered to the company by external suppliers. We will draw upon this experience and look after our employees in the best way," says Reitan.
