Corvette Stoiky completes first phase of sea trials (photo)

Corvette Stoiky (project 20380) built by Severnaya Verf OJSC for the Baltic Fleet of Russia has completed the first phase of sea trials at sea range of Leningrad naval base (Baltic Fleet), says press center of RF Defence Ministry.

In the nearest time, upon replenishment, the corvette will set off for Baltic naval base where she is to undergo the second phase of the trials.

Stoiky is the third serial corvette of project 20380. The lead vessel of the series is Steregushchy delivered to the Baltic Fleet in 2007. The first serial vessel, Soobrazitelny, was delivered on October 14, 2011, while Boiky, the second one, joined the fleet on May 16, 2013. 

Corvettes of project 20380 are over 100 m long, displacement – 2,000 t, maximum speed – up to 27 knots, range – 4,000 miles. Ships of Steregushchy class are conceptually new in terms of their military and combat characteristics.
