According to Director General Arvydas Vaitkus: "Implementation of the liquefied natural gas project is the challenge that has been accepted by all members of Klaipeda Port community. And also Lithuania. Actually, in order to achieve something useful and beneficial in this world it is important not to sit trembling and thinking only about cold and dangers, but to proceed forward and fight for success. As a rule, things that may seem as unconquerable obstacle to weak people, for strong people are only stones for climbing upwards. Large scale of works has been already implemented. In the nearest future LNG terminal will open the new possibilities for natural gas market in our country. Lithuania will be able to receive independently natural gas and will not depend upon some exclusive and single gas supplier. Users will have the possibility to acquire natural gas from diverse suppliers under market prices."
The Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania Jeroslav Neverovic also participated in this event. The Mayor of Klaipeda Vytautas Grubliauskas congratulated all the participants with this outstanding event, Director General of SC "Klaipedos nafta" Rokas Masiulis read the letter addressed to future generations. The letter was put into a capsule that the Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius laid into the pole. The honourable quests dropped the first handfuls of concrete.
