Throughput of Neva-Metal up 30% to 580,000 t in Jan-Feb'14
In January-February 2014, Neva-Metal CJSC (stevedoring company of Severstal) handled 580,000 t of cargo (+30%, year-on-year), the company’s press center says.
Ferrous metal produced by Cherepovets Steel Mill accounted for about 60% of the company’s total throughput (remains steady). Transshipment of this product increased by 30%, year-on-year. The company’s container throughput hit 12,000 TEUs.
According to Andrey Zubov, Director General of Neva-Metal, the growth of the terminal’s throughput was driven by growing export sales and permanent improvement of cargo handling technologies resulting in the expansion the terminal capacity.
Stevedoring company Neva-Metal CJSC operates in Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg. The company commenced its activities in 1995. In 2008, Neva-Metal entered the division Severstal. Russian steel. The company specializes in transshipment and storage of ferrous metal, general and dry bulk cargo. In 2013, Neva-Metal CJSC handled about 3 mln t of cargo.
