Contargo Container Escaut Services starts new Contargo Dunkirk-Rotterdam service

The trimodal service operator Contargo Container Escaut Services SAS (CCES) has started a new scheduled barge line between Valenciennes in the industrial region of northern France and the Port of Rotterdam, the company said in its press release.

The new 143 km connection, which is initially operated by one barge per week, uses the wide Dunkirk-Scheldt canal (Canal Dunkerque-Escaut) between Valenciennes and Dunkirk. Depending on demand, vessels from Contargo’s own fleet with capacities of 28 to 78 TEU will carry out the service.

The sailing times are adapted to the schedules of the Asia service of CMA CGM P3 Network, Maersk and MSC.
