Small air-cushioned landing ship Yevgeny Kocheshkov has arrived at the permanent base of Russia’s Baltic Fleet after the repair, says press center of RF Ministry of Defence.
The ship has been repaired by the Baltic shipyard Yantar.
The crew of the ship has commenced drilling the course mission directly at the naval base.
The Yevgeny Kocheshkov and the Mordovia are the world’s largest air-cushioned landing ships.
The Yevgeny Kocheshkov is a Zubr-class air-cushioned landing craft of Project 12322. It is designed to sealift landing assault units (such as marines or tanks) from equipped/non-equipped vessels to non-equipped shore, as well as transport and plant mines. This warship can make landings at up to 70% of total length of coastal line of seas and oceans in the world.
