RF Transport Ministry eager to ‘drag’ Baltic cargoes to domestic ports
RF Transport Ministry is set to ‘drag’ the cargoes of the Baltic Sea to the domestic ports, IAA PortNews journalist cites Russia’s Deputy Transport Minister Sergey Aristov as saying at the VII annual international conference TRILOGY in Saint-Petersburg.
According to him, the priorities of the North West port infrastructure are the development of port Arkhangelsk and Belomorsk, reconstruction of the facilities at Big Port St. Petersburg and the development of port Ust-Luga.
“It is not good when a vessel arriving from China is unloaded in a foreign port and then cargo is delivered to our country by motor transport. It means we have missed something”, Sergey Aristov says.
