Middle-Volga Shipping Company lays down chemical carrier Midvolga-2
On March 18, 2014, Middle-Volga Shipping Company LLC laid the keel of the chemical carrying tanker of mixed river-sea navigation Midvolga-2 with the capacity of 6,290 t. According to the company’s press center, the tanker is to be delivered and put into operation in November 2014.
The contract for construction of two multi-purpose chemical carrying tankers was signed within the framework of the company’s fleet renovation programme. Apart from the construction of five new multi-purpose tankers, the programme provides for modernization/renovation of tankers which are under the company’s operation. The programme covers the period through 2015.
By the end of 2014, the company plans to put into operation three new tankers, while the modernization/renovation of the company’s tankers is to be completed by summer navigation of 2015.
In July 2013, the fleet of Middle-Volga Shipping Company was expanded with mixed river-sea going tanker Midvolga-1. The tanker’s class id М-СП3.5(ice40)А of Russian River Register. The tanker is deployed for cargo transportation along the Nizhnekask-St.Petersburg route (anchorage 5А).
Middle-Volga Shipping Company LLC operates oil tankers of 5,000 t in capacity, tug and tow trains with the capacity ranging between 4,500 t – 9,000 t, auxiliary vessels.
Aggregate tonnage of oil tankers operated by the company exceeds 70,000 t.
