In January-June 2014, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC handled 1.49 mln t of cargo (-32%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says.
In the reported period, transshipment of ferrous metal fell by 26.2% to 550,100 t, coal and coke – increased by 19.8% to 146,400 t, oil products – plunged 3.9 times to 56,900 t, metal scrap – increased by 0.3% to 62,500 t.
The port’s container throughput climbed by 8.3% to 79,265 TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2013, the port’s throughput totaled 4.068 mln tonnes.
