Throughput of Russian seaports up 6.5% to 251.7 mln t in HI’14
In January-June 2014, Russia seaports handled 303.1 mln t of cargo (+6.5%, year-on-year), says press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 135.7 mln t (+13.6%) including 56.6 mln t of coal (+15.3%), 23.4 mln t of containerized cargo (+7.8%), 12.2 mln t of ferrous metal (+5.1%), 10.0 mln t of grain (up 3.4 times), 7.2 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+18.8%), 3.7 mln t of cargoes carried by ferries (+15.8%), 2.4 mln t of scrap metal (+45.7%) and 2.3 mln t of timber (+1.7%). Transshipment of ore fell to 2.9 mln t (-19.0%), non-ferrous metals – to 1.6 mln t (-22.1%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo hit 167.4 mln t (+1.4%) including 96.1 mln t of crude oil (-7.6%), 63.0 mln t of oil products (+16.5%) and 6.4 mln t of liquefied gas (+13.9%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 243.4 mln t (+8.9%, year-on-year) including 21.7 mln t of import cargo (-5.9%), 24.2 mln t of transit cargo (+7.9%) and 13.8 mln t of coastal trade cargo (-11.9%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled17.1 mln t of cargo (-25.5%, year-on-year) including 12.3 mln t of dry cargo (+5.3%) and 4.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (down 2.4 times). The port of Murmansk handled 11.4 mln t (-25.1%), Arkhangelsk - 1.9 mln t (-17.5%), Varandey - 2.8 mln t (+11.5%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 111.0 mln t of cargo (+5.1%) including 43.5 mln t of dry cargo (+9.6%), 67.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.4%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 36.3 mln t of cargo (+24.5%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 29.8 mln t (+8.7%), Vysotsk – 8.8 mln t (+8.1%), Primorsk - 28.7 mln t (-13.8%), Kaliningrad - 6.7 mln t (-6.5%).
Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports climbed to 90.5 mln t (+11.7%, year-on-year) including 30.7 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+17.9%), 59.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+8.8%). Port Novorossiysk handled 60.8 mln t of cargo (+8.8%), Tuapse - 10.8 mln t (+38.1%), Taman - 5.2 mln t (+44.7%), Kavkaz - 3.7 mln t (+16.9%), Azov - 2.0 mln t (+17.6%), Yeisk - 1.4 mln t (+21.6%), Taganrog - 1.2 mln t (+11.4%), Rostov-on-Don - 4.3 mln t (+0.2%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 3.8 mln t of cargo (-6.3%) including 1.4 mln t of dry cargo (-2.2%) and 2.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-8.6%). Throughput of port Makhachkala fell by 7.7%, Astrakhan – by 2.5%, Olya - by 9.0%.
The ports of Far East Basin handled 80.7 mln t of cargo (+13.8%) including 47.8 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+16.5%) and 32.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+8.6%). Увеличили Port Vostochny handled 28.0 mln t (+16.0%), Vanino - 13.0 mln t (+6.3%), Nakhodka - 10.6 mln t (+17.1%), Prigorodnoye - 8.4 mln t (+3.0%), Vladivostok - 7.7 mln t (+12.1%), De-Castri - 4.1 mln t (+22.7%), Posiet - 3.8 mln t (+43.7%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
