Container traffic of TransContainer on the Far Eastern Railway (DVZD, part of Russian Railways) in January-June 2014 rose 8% on H1 2013 to 226,400 TEUs, the DVZD press office said.
Year to date, over 2.6 million tonnes of cargo (+ 7% on 2013 figures) were loaded into containers at the DVZD stations, including 2.6 tonnes (+ 7%) in HC containers.
Average daily loading for the reporting period amounted to 14,000 tonnes with average container weight of 17,73 tonnes.
In June 2014, the monthly container traffic increased 3% from the same period in 2013 to 40,200 TEUs with 482,100 tonnes of goods (7% y-o-y).

In 2013, container transportation by the rolling stock of TransContainer OJSC dropped by 2% to 1.45 million TEUs.
