Loading at Russian Railways network down 1.4% to 808.4 mln t in Jan-Aug’14

In January-August 2014, the loading at the network of Russian Railways OJSC totaled 808.4 mln t (-1.4%, year-on-year), the company’s press center says.

In the reported period, Russian Railways loaded 202.3 mln t of coal (+0.2%, y-o-y); 7.6 mln t of coke (-0.1%); 170.3 mln t of crude and oil products (+2.1%); 71.7 mln t of iron and manganese ore (-2.2%); 47.4 mln t of ferrous metal (+0.8%); 10.6 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (-1.7%); 33.3 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+7.1%); 22.6 mln t of cement (-6.8%); 26.3 mln t of timber (+9%); 9.8 mln t of grain (+44.3%); 96.7 mln t of construction materials (-17%); 13 mln t of  non-ferrous ore and raw sulphur (-6.1%); 17 mln t of chemicals and soda  (-3.7%); 23.2 mln t of  industrial raw materials and molding materials (+5.2%).

From the beginning of 2014, the company’s cargo turnover hit 1,514.3  bln tarrif t-km (+5.5%).  Cargo turnover including empty wagon run hit 1,950.9 bln t-km (+6.1%).

In August 2014, the company loaded 105.8 mln t (-1.5%).

The company’s cargo turnover climbed by 4% to 191.4 bln tarrif t-km. Cargo turnover including empty wagon run climbed by 4.3% to 245.4 bln t-km.
