Annual capacity of the railway towards the port of Ust-Luga will reach 64 mln t in 2015, IAA PortNews journalist cites Vladimir Orlov, head of technical policy service at Oktyabrskaya Railway (Russian Railways branch), as saying at VI Baltic Transport Forum in Saint-Petersburg.
According to him, the railway capacity was 38.3 mln t in 2013 and it will be increased to 80.3 mln t by 2020. Ust-Luga port is the key driver of cargo traffic increase, Vladimir Orlov said.
In general, Oktyabrskaya Railway forecasts, that railway cargo traffic towards the ports of the North West region will total 117 mln t in 2014 (+13.8%, year-on-year).
