Nordic Yards launches two MPSVs for Rosmorrechflot’s rescue service (photo)
On September 21, 2014, Nordic Yards (Germany) launched two 7MW multipurpose salvage vessels of project MPSV06, the Beringov Proliv and the Murman.
The vessels intended for rescuing of people and ships, diving and search operations, protection of environment in case of oil spills have been built under the federal special-purpose programme for the FSI Sea Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot, press center of Russia’s State Marine Rescue Service says.
The vessels are to be delivered to FSI Sea Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot and put into operation in March 2015.
The vessels named MPSV Beringov Proliv (Bering Strait, hull No 217) and MPSV Murman (hull No 218) are registered in Korsakov and Murmansk respectively.
Nordic Yards has three production locations in Germany - Rostock-Warnemünde, Wismar and Volkswerft Stralsund. The company specializes in the construction of offshore platforms, ice-class vessels, ferries and passenger ships.
