In January-September, all terminals of Tamanneftegas, operator of LPG, oil and oil product transshipment complex in Taman, handled 5 mln t, the company says. Transshipment of crude oil totaled 1.6 mln t. Crude shipments from port Taman commenced on July 2012. From that moment, crude terminal of Tamanneftegas transshipped 9.5 mln t. As of today, Taman is the largest port complex in Russia to transship oil from railway to marine transport.
In the 9-month period, LPG transshipment amounted 160,000 t. From August 23, 2012, when LPG terminal was put into operation, it transshipped 305,000 t. LPG facility of Tamanneftegas is one the most hi-tech terminals in the CIS.
Transshipment of heavy fuel oil totaled 3 mln t in January-September and 3.6 mln t from August 10, 2013, when the first tanker arrived at the terminal.
From the beginning of 2014, Tamanneftegas has been handling gas condensate. With month-by-month increase of volumes the company transshipped 240,000 t of gas condensate to vessels.
When commenting on the 9-month results, Sergei Gubinets, Director General of OTEKO (investor in construction of Taman terminals) noted that “OTEKO investments into the project exceeded $1.5 bln and we are satisfied with the development of our port assets. In the nearest future we are going to start handling light oil products. Expansion of the terminal will be finished by the end of the year and the capacity of all terminal will reach 19.9 mln t”.
