First oil from Dolginskoye field to be shipped in early 2020-ies
First oil from the Dolginskoye field (Pechora Sea) to be shipped in early 2020-ies, IAA PortNews journalist cites Aleksey Fadeyev, Head of Production Support Directorate at Gazpromneft Sakhalin (engaged in the field development), as saying at the 7th International Conference “Arctic Shelf Development: Step by Step”.
According to him, the company is currently analyzing the data from the drilling of a 3.5-km well (completed in late August 2014), the reports are nearing completion. The development of the Dolginskoye and Prirazlomnoye fields will be performed within the framework of a single cluster which will allow for optimization of cargo supply logistics.
The programme on the offshore fields development will let Gazprom annually produce over 200 bln cbm of gas and some 10 mln t of oil by 2030.
In early July, Gazpromneft-Sakhalin, a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft, started drilling a new exploration well in the Dolginskoye field on the continental shelf in the Pechora sea.
Drilling and testing of the well will be carried out in 2014 by the GSP Saturn jackup rig, which arrived on site in mid-June and is installed directly on the seabed. The drilling at the field will continue in 2015-2016.
The Dolginskoye oil field lies in the middle of the Pechora Sea, 120km south of the Novaya Zemlya archipelago and 110km north of the mainland. The field was discovered in 1999; the sea is approximately 35-55m deep in the field area. 2D seismic work has been carried out on more than 11,000 linear kilometers, and 3D seismic on 1,600 km2. Recoverable reserves are currently estimated at over 200 million tonnes of oil equivalent.
