In January-November 2014, the volume of cargo exported via Russian ports totaled 230.5 mln t (+11.7%, year-on-year), says press center of Russian Railways.
It should be noted that the growth is held back by insufficient level of port terminals’ technological infrastructure, delayed arrival of fleet and absence of storage facilities.
According to Russian Railways, joint measures should be developed to enhance interaction between the ports and railways, information & logistic technologies for transportation management should be improved to boost cargo handling in ports.
