In January 2015, Russian seaports handled 52.9 mln t (+12.2%, year-on-year), says press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 21.7 mln t (+8.1%) including 9.6 mln t of coal (+13.8%), 2.3 mln t of ferrous metal (+10.2%), 1.9 mln t of grain (up 1.6 times), 1.2 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+13.4%), 0.9 mln t of cargoes carried by ferries (up 1.6 times). Transshipment of containerized cargo fell to 2.9 mln t (-16.4%), scrap metal – to 0.3 mln t (-5.9%). Transshipment of ore fell to 0.3 mln t (-42.7%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 31.2 mln t (+15.2%) including 16.8 mln t of crude (+5.0%), 12.9 mln t of oil products (+32.7%) and 1.2 mln t of liquefied gas (+12.0%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 44.2 mln t (+15.4%, year-on-year), import - 2.3 mln t (-23.2%), transit - 3.8 mln t (-3.8%), coastal trade cargo - 2.6 mln t (+36.6%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 2.7 mln t (-2.8%, year-on-year) including 1.8 mln t of dry cargo (-9.1%) and 0.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+12.3%). The port of Murmansk handled 1.6 mln t (-17.0%), Varandei - 0.6 mln t (+13.6%), Arkhangelsk - 0.4 mln t (up 1.6 times).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 19.1 mln t (+14.1%) including 6.7 mln t of dry cargo (+8.6%) and 12.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+17.3%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 7.0 mln t (+27.3%), Primorsk - 5.4 mln t (+15.9%), Vysotsk - 1.3 mln t (+14.0%), Kaliningrad - 1.2 mln t (+17.5%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 4.1 mln t (-4.2%).
Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports climbed to 17.0 mln t (+21.4%, year-on-year) including 5.3 mln t of dry cargo (+20.8%) and 11.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+21.7%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 11.0 mln t (+17.0%), Tuapse - 2.4 mln t (+46.5%), Kavkaz - 0.8 mln t (up 2.3 times), Taganrog - 0.3 mln t (+29.1%), Yeisk - 0.3 mln t (+20.2%), Temryuk - 0.2 mln t (up 2.0 times), Taman - 1.0 mln t (-5.8%), Rostov-on-Don - 0.6 mln t (-12.5%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 0.6 mln t of cargo (-4.5%) including 0.3 mln t of dry cargo (+43.2%) and 0.3 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-26.7%). The port of Makhachkala saw a decrease of 26.0%, Olya – a decrease of 15.0%, Astrakhan – an increase of 1.7 times.
The ports of Far East Basin handled 13.5 mln t (+3.8%) including 7.5 mln t of dry cargo (+3.7%) and 6.0 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+3.9%). Port Vostochny handled 5.1 mln t (+7.4%), Vanino - 2.2 mln t (+16.4%), Prigorodnoye – до 1.5 mln t (+1.1%), Posiet 0.6 mln t (+23.3%), Nakhodka - 1.6 mln t (-5.0%), Vladivostok - 1.1 mln t (- 16.8%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
