In January 2015, Odessa Commercial Sea Port handled 2.03 mln t of cargo (+11%, year-on-year), says press center of Odessa Commercial Sea Port’s authority.
In the reported period, transshipment of ferrous and non-ferrous metals more than doubled to 497,300 t (against 186,400 t in Jan’14).
Transshipment of grain declined to 506,800 t (against 606,500 t in Jan’14).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo and containers remained at the level of the previous year: 507,100 t (against 508,100 t) and 30,765 TEUs (against 30,630 TEUs) accordingly.
Odessa Commercial Sea Port operates in one of the largest ports of the Black-Azov Sea Basin. Technical facilities of the port allow handling of more than 14 million tonnes of dry cargoes and 24 million tonnes of liquid cargoes annually. The port’s passenger terminal accepts vessels of up to 300 meters in length. In 2014, throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port climbed by 6.1%, year-on-year, to 24.5 mln tonnes.
