PCC Intermodal plans to add a fifth weekly connection to Rotterdam from/to its Frankfurt (Oder) terminal this year

PCC Intermodal plans to add a fifth weekly connection to Rotterdam from/to its Frankfurt (Oder) terminal this year. The terminal offers six weekly connections on the east-west corridor to and from Kutno (central Poland) as well, Port of Rotterdam said in its media release.
 
The terminal was officially inaugurated in December by PCC Intermodal , one of Poland's leading intermodal transport operators.The terminal now incorporates four tracks with a length of 600 m each and a newly installed gantry crane. Additionally, there are two reach stackers available for container handling operations. By adding two additional tracks and the gantry crane, the annual handling capacity of the terminal was increased to more than 100,000 TEU. There is 30,000 sqm of operating space is now available, including storage space for up to 1,000 TEU.

Currently the terminal is mainly used for rail-to-rail cross-docking operations. As a local hub for road-rail transportation, the catchment areas served by the terminal include not only the economic regions of Frankfurt (Oder), Zielona Góra, Gorzów, and Cottbus, but also Berlin, Szczecin, and Dresden.

PCC Intermodal has been operating the intermodal transshipment terminal in Frankfurt (Oder) since 2012 and also operates terminals in Kutno, Gliwice, Dębica, and Brzeg Dolny.
