Port of Taganrog reports a 110.6% surge in cargo volumes in February to 238,000 tonnes
Cargo throughput at the sea port of Taganrog in February 2015 totaled 238,000 tonnes, which represents an impressive growth of 110.6% on the same period a year earlier, the PortNews regional correspondent reports quoting the port authorities.
Acting Captain of the Port of Taganrog Alexander Danilenko told that the growth was seen across all main segments. Oil product shipments leaped by 101.7% to 119,000 tonnes. Handling of coal increased by 2.9 times to 49,000 tonnes. Grain exports rose 47.6% to 31,000 tonnes and metal volumes soared threefold to 27,000 tonnes.
In the reporting period there were 57 arrivals and 63 departures. In February 2014 the Harbourmaster's office Taganrog registered 27 arrivals and 27 departures.

The major shareholder of Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC is UCL Port, stevedoring division of the International Transportation Group UCL Holding, which controls a number of stevedoring assets in the South and North West of Russia. In 2014, cargo throughput at the terminals of Taganrog Commercial Seaport reached 1.16 million tonnes.
