Jan De Nul places order for most powerful CSD with Croatian shipyard
Jan De Nul Group has placed an order for a large self-propelled cutter suction dredger JDN8069 with Pula, Croatia based shipyard Uljanik Brodogradiliste. The vessel was designed by Jan De Nul’s in-house design department, the Group said in a press release.
With seven large self-propelled cutter suction dredgers, Jan De Nul Group can boast much experience in rock dredging and dredging at high sea. This experience provided the basis for new cutter suction dredger concept.
The total installed diesel power will be over 40.000 kW, which is approximately 50% more powerful than our J.F.J. De Nul, currently the largest cutter suction dredger in the world.
The cutter power amounts to 8,500 kW and the cutter ladder weighs around 2,000 tonnes. These figures are unrivalled and make the vessel the ultimate tool for dredging hard rock.
General characteristics:
LOA: 151.3 m; Breadth: 36.0 m; Draft: 5,75 m; Dredging depth: 45.0 m; Suction pipe diameter: 1,100 mm; Discharge pipe diameter; 1,100 mm / 1,000 mm; Barge loading pipe diameter: 1,000 mm; Submerged pump power: 8,500 kW; Inboard pump power: 2 x 8,500 kW; Cutter power: 8,500 kW; Propulsion power: 2 x 3,000 kW; Total installed diesel power: 40,975 kW; Speed: 2.0 kn; Accommodation: 67.
