Since the beginning of the 2014-2015 winter navigation season icebreakers have provided icebreaking assistance to 967 cargo vessels in the Gulf of Finland , Rosmorrechflot said.
Icebreakers "Yuri Lisyansky", "Dezhnev" and "Ivan Krusenstern" were escorting (as of March 10) ship convoys on access channel to the port of St. Petersburg.
Icebreakers "Captain Izmailov," "Mudyug" and "Kara" were assisting cargo ships bound for the ports of Vyborg and Vysotsk, and the icebreaker "Moskva" assisted ship traffic in the sea port of Primorsk.
There are also 6 icebreakers ready to be deployed.
The port based in the Gulf of Finland have ice class restrictions: only ships with Ice1 class are allowed to enter the ports.
