Ports of Tallinn, Estonia and Helsinki, Finland have plans to invest some EUR 100 million until 2018 in the development of port infrastructure, BNS reports.
Overhaul in the Old Port of Tallinn includes the construction of new sewers, expansion of D Terminal and enhancement of traffic in the vicinity of A Terminal.
According to Mary Zirel, Tallinna Sadam's manager of European projects, all the investments are aimed at boosting the efficiency of maritime traffic between Tallinn and Helsinki.
The ports are also working on the project of twin-ports, which has received support from EU.
