Kerch ferry service carried 418 passengers, 95,000 cars and 40,000 trucks in winter season

Duritng the 2014-2015 winter navigation season ferries plying across the Kerch Strait have transported 418,000 passengers, 95,000 autos and 40,000 semi-trailer trucs, the United Transport Directorate said.

In December the Kerch service ferries carried 150,000 people, 35,000 cars and 15,000 trucks. In January 2015 the vessels moved 140,000 passengers, 31,000 cars and 10,000 trucks. In February 2015, there were 128,000 passengers, 29,000 cars and 15,000 trucks that used the ferry crossing.

The United Transport Directorate was established to manage and regulate the freight and passenger transportation, to oversee the design, construction and overhaul of intermodal facilities infrastructure in the Azov-Black Sea basin, including road, air, railways, maritime and river transport.
