TransContainer launches new block train on the route Artem - Saint Petersburg

The first train of TransContainer's own railcars was dispatched on March 7, 2015 from Artem-Primorsky terminal station of Far Eastern Railway to destination Saint Petersburg-Tovarniy-Vitebskiy of October Railway, the TransContainer press-release said.

Transit time on the 9,266-km-long route is 9 days. The trains will be dispatched from Artem-Primorsky once a week.

"In addition to the existing train services to Moscow, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg, the operator provides expedited delivery of goods from China and South Korea (in the block container train of "Transsiberian in 7 days" project) directly to St. Petersburg. Sufficient amount of containers in all premier ports of China, Korea and Japan and shipping them by the container train can significantly reduce the delivery time of goods from countries in the Asia-Pacific region," the company said.
