Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard (United Shipbuilding Corporation) has launched the fifteenth tanker of Project RST27 built for Sinergy Shipping Ltd. (Malta), the shipbuilding company says.
The tanker will undergo mooring and sea trials from April 17 till May 4. The delivery is scheduled for May 15 thus enabling the customer start cargo transportation in navigation 2015.
The tankers of project RST27 (Volga-Don Max class) are designed for transportation of crude oil and oil products with no flash point. The tankers can transport two types of cargo simultaneously. The tanker was developed by Marine Engineering Bureau (Odessa) to the class of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP). The detailed project is developed by Volga-Caspian Design Bureau (Nizhni Novgorod).
Sea / river DWT – 6,980 /5,400 tonnes with draft of 4.2 / 3.6 m. LOA - 140.85 m, beam - 16.86 m, depth - 6 m.. Operational speed – 10.5 knots. Crew - 12 persons.
The design takes into account special requirements of Russian and global oil companies as well as additional environmental restrictions of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping «ECO PROJECT» (ECO-S).
Krasnoye Sormovo OJSC (Nizhni Novgorod) is one of Russia's oldest shipyards. It was founded in 1849. In 2011, it entered the United Shipbuilding Corporation. The shipyard is Russia’s leader in construction of civil river and sea-and-river going vessels.
