Throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port up 1.7% to 10.5 mln t in Jan-May’15

In January-May 2015, Odessa Commercial Sea Port handled 10,508,300 (+1.7%, year-on-year), says the press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.  
The port’s leading stevedoring companies are Brooklyn-Kiev Ltd. (2,602,600 t), GPK Ukraine (1,519,200t) and Metalsukraine Corp. Ltd. (1,121,700 t).

The majority of cargo is comprised by grain – 3,033,900 t (+22.5%) and rolled ferrous metal products – 2,537,600 (+50.6%).

In May, the port handled 1,971,500 t of cargo (+6%, year-on-year).

Odessa Commercial Sea Port operates in one of the largest ports of the Black-Azov Sea Basin. Technical facilities of the port allow handling of more than 14 million tonnes of dry cargoes and 24 million tonnes of liquid cargoes annually. The port’s passenger terminal accepts vessels of up to 300 meters in length. In 2014, throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port climbed by 6.1%, year-on-year, to 24.5 mln tonnes.
