The participants of the meeting dedicated to the development of passenger-carrying water transport of the Russian Federation, held on August 11 in Rostov-on-Don and chaired by Igor Levitin, Assistant of RF President, outlined the problems hindering the development of cruise tourism including bottlenecks at inland water ways of Russia and insufficient coastal infrastructure. According to the press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot), the meeting participants are also concerned about the high wear of fixed assets in the transport sector.
The following officials participated in the meeting: Deputy Head of Federal Agency for marine and inland transport Viktor Vovk , Acting Governor of Rostov Region Vasily Golubev, representatives of RF President’s Administration, State Duma, the Federation Council, Federal Tourism Agency, executive authorities of the Rostov Region and the Republic of Tatarstan, heads of commercial organizations dealing with transportation of passengers by water transport.
