In January-July 2015, Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk (Ukraine) handled 10.10 mln t of cargo (+10.3%), says Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
In the reported period, transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 1,115,000 t (+6.4%, year-on-year), dry bulk cargo – 7,084,000 (+50.2%), general cargo – 1,907,000 t (-43.8%).
In July all operators of the port (excluding Fishing Port of Illichivsk LLC) handled 1,277,000 t of cargo (+4.7%, year-on-year).
State port operator SE Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk handled 945,000 t of cargo (74% of the port’s total volume), an increase of 33.8%, year-on-year.
Private port operators handled 332,000 t (26% of total volume) including 167,000 t handled at the terminals of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (13.1% of total volume).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 639,000 t (92.9% of July’14 results), import – 243,000 (96.0% of July’14 results), transit – 199,000 (71.4% of July’14 results), coastal trade cargo – 196,000 t (+ 100%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo – 108,000 (91.0% of July’14 results), dry bulk cargo – 943,000 (+ 44.6%, year-on-year), general cargo – 226,000 t (50.5% of July’14 results).
Coal transshipment showed the highest growth – up over 20 times to 69,000 t, and construction aggregates – up two-fold 102,000 t.
In July, Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk handled 138 vessels and 13,775 wagons.
SE Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk is a multipurpose international port, one of the largest ports in the Black Sea. The company operates specialized terminals and complexes capable of handling a wide range of cargoes – liquid bulk cargo, dry bulk cargo, general cargo. The port’s 29 berths can accommodate vessels of up to 100,000 tonnes in deadweight. Designed annual capacity of SCPI exceeds 30 mln tonnes.
The port’s container capacity is 1.15 mln TEUs. From 2007 the port can simultaneously handle 3 ocean-going 300-m long container carriers of over 5,000 TEUs in capacity.
