Sakhalin Energy offloaded 400th cargo of oil starting from the year-round production in 2008 on Tuesday, 18 August 2015. According to the Company, Zaliv Aniva oil tanker will deliver the cargo to Japan for TonenGeneral, to Sakhalin Energy’s regular buyer.
Starting December 2014 Sakhalin Energy has been producing new oil grade Sakhalin Blend – the light, low-sulphur oil blend. This was due to the commencement of Sakhalin-3 condensate intake from the Kirinskoye field.
About 16-17 thousand tonnes of oil is delivered daily to Prigorodnoye production complex, which includes the first seaport in Russia, constructed for servicing hydrocarbon tankers. There are two storage tanks at the oil export terminal (OET) with the capacity about 95 thousand cubic meters each. Every five-six days oil tankers come to the tanker loading unit connected with the OET by offshore pipelines.
Safety, and first of all ecological safety during the offloading operations, is the most priority for the oil export terminal. Close collaboration with the seaport services, professionalism and innovative technologies are the basic success for safety.
Starting 1999 Sakhalin Energy totally produced and exported more than 51 mln tonnes (about 392 mln barrels) of oil to the Asia-Pacific market. The major oil buyers are oil refining and energy companies of China, Japan and South Korea.
