Caspian Energy Group completes LSP-1 cargo operation (photo)

On August 23, 2015, experts of Caspian Energy Group (member of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) assembled the forth section and the crown block of the ice-resistant platform (LSP-1). According to the Group’s press center, the final cargo operation involving the Volgar floating crane (1,600 t in capacity) has thus been successfully completed.

Around 368 of the Group experts are involved into the construction and installation activity on the field at Caspian sea.

Ice-resistant platform (LSP-1) is the major facility of Vladimir Filanovsky oil-gas-condensate field infrastructure in the Caspian.

Caspian Energy Group structure combines resources enabling to fulfill complex projects relating to construction of facilities for offshore fields development. The strategic goal of Caspian Energy Group is strengthening and increasing of competitiveness of Russian manufacturers of complex marine facilities for continental shelf development and Caspian shelf development first of all.

The oil and gas field named after Vladimir Filanovsky was discovered in 2005 in the Northern part of the Caspian Sea, 220 km off Astrakhan. The sea depth at the site reaches 7 to 11 meters. The field estimated reserves reach 220 million tonnes and 40 billion cbm of gas. Projected oil production is to reach 8 million tonnes.
