North-Western Shipping Company (NWSC) has forced the Finnish Seamen's Union (FSU) execute the local court’s ruling to lift the boycott on unloading of NWSC’s M/V Malachite at the port of Uusikaupunki (Finland), NWSC says.
Handling operations were started on December 16, at 7:00 and completed by about 12:00. The ship left the port at 13:10.
FSU Representatives were deliberately delaying execution of the decision made by the Court of Finland on December 14, 2015 in favour of NWSC through avoiding its formal obtaining. The court’s order could be served on the FSU representative only on December 15, at 16:00.
NWSC says that illegal actions of the representatives of FSU, which is affiliated to the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF), have delayed M/V Malachite and caused both direct loss and missed profit.
“The Company is going to seek the recovery of losses,” NWSC says.
