Ceremonial hoisting of RF flag at diesel-electric icebreaker Murmansk (Project 21900 М) built by Vyborg Shipyard (Leningrad Region) will be held on December 25, 2015, a source in United Shipbuilding Corporation told IAA PortNews.
Signing of the acceptance/delivery certificate has been scheduled for the same day.
The Murmansk is the third ship in the series of three icebreakers.
The ship was designed by Baltsudoproekt bureau (Krylov State Research Center) and laid down at Vyborg Shipyard (USC) on December 26, 2012. The hull structures were then delivered to Arctech Helsinki Shipyard (fully owned by USC) for final assembling and fitting out.
The lead icebreaker of Project 21900 М, the Vladivostok, was delivered to the customer, Federal Marine and River Transport Agency, as scheduled, in October 2015. The first serial icebreaker, the Novorossiysk, was launched in late October 2015.
