Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System (FGC UES) has connected directly to its transmission networks the Primorsky region based Oil Port Kozmino, which is the terminus of the ESPO (Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline system, the FGC press office said Monday.
The customer will be provided with 28.6 MW. Previously, the port was supplied with power from the transit network to the southern regions of Primorsky Krai. As part of the energy system overhaul the FGC has built two 220 kV transmission lines that through constant circuit scheme connected the Kozmino's electrical substation to the current 500 kV LOZOVAYA substation of FGC. This will greatly increase the reliability of electricity supply of the facility.
Transneft – Port Kozmino LLC is a subsidiary of Transneft JSC. Oil-loading terminal of Kozmino is the terminus of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system (ESPO). The port was built for transshipment of oil delivered by pipeline and railway to sea-going oil tankers. In 2014, the terminal exported 24.9 mln t of ESPO brand crude.
