Coal throughput at Port Vysotsky in 2015 grew by 7.7% to 5.67 million tonnes

Export coal shipments at Port Vysotsky between January and December 2015 reached a record volume of 5,679,704.789 tonnes, or up 7.7% year-on-year, the port operator said in a press release.

In December 2014 coal throughput exceeded 639,000 tonnes, the record volume ever handled by the company.

For the first time in the history of Port Vysotsky LLC last month the company discharged 7,794 coal laden rail cars (previous record - 7606 cars). The average daily discharge rate was 251 cars.

Leningrad region, Russia based LLC Port Vysotsky specializes in handling Russian coal exported to Western Europe with two major terminal operators Port Visotsky LLC and RPK-Vysotsk-Lukoil-2 LLC. In 2012, Russian government decided to implement the port boundaries expansion through incorporation of new territories and water areas. Previously, the port completed dredging project: the depth and width of the approach channel was increased to 12.7 and 200 meters, accordingly. In 2014 Port Vysotsky handled 5,27 million tonnes of cargo (+7.4%)
