Oil spill response exercise arranged by Infotech-Novo LLC held at port Kavkaz (photo)

Oil spill response exercise arranged by Infotech-Novo LLC has been held at port Kavkaz, the Company told IAA PortNews. Sea Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot took part in the exercise. The team of observers included the representatives of Azov Sea Ports Administration, Emergency Ministry’s Department for the Krasnodar Territory, Rosprirodnadzor’s Department for the Southern Federal District, Transport Prosecutor’s Office of Novorossiysk. 

The following vessels were involved: storage tanker Sichem Hawk, emergency rescue ships Zaliv and Impuls, boom tender Hitech-75. 

Booms, sorbent, skimmers and tanks for collected oil products were used during the exercise. It also included the activities on cleaning of the beach line where sorbent and on-shore oil collection systems of Rosmorrechflot’s Sea Rescue Service were used.

The training mission has been performed successfully. Required level of oil spill response preparedness has been confirmed.
