In January-April 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 4,109,600 t of cargo (-6%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew by 21% to 413,900 t including 191,700 t of coal (+51%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo increased by 8% to 1.45 mln t, transshipment of general cargo was flat at 519,600 t.
The port’s container throughput increased by 8.4% to 54,847 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 522,500 t (-9%), liquid bulk cargo – 880,200 (-30%) including 418,300 t of oil product (-43%), 271,900 t of crude oil (-3%) and 178,000 t of food cargo (-22%).
